A little more progress...and a question.

Here are a couple shots of the front suspension assembled. My question is that the spindles seem to be really stiff to rotate on the ball joints. Is this normal and am I just use to really worn out stuff that spins around real easily? Everything is torqued correctly (after the $75 torque wrench purchase). Thanks.

If they're lubed and torqued properly. I wouldn't sweat it. Just did my spindles and upper ball joints and they feel pretty stiff too. My guess is -- normal.

Fuggin' awesome truck so far. Looks absolutely gorgeous.

1971Stepside...stop posting pictures of your truck!!!!!!!!! You are a very sick person and are just punishing the rest of us! Do you enjoy torturing your fellow board members this way???? I'm putting myself on suicide watch...LMAO! I wouldn't drive that thing...I'd just set it up in my front room and admire it!

LOL at stllookn! I spend a lot of time sitting and starring at it already. I think I will be doing a lot of that coming up because the well has run dry for funds for awhile. I'm very pleased with the outcome so far. Tie Rods, and sway bar tonight!!

No you're ok. Even with my old drum spindles the new setup was really stiff. I haven't lubed it yet though. Not going to do that until I'm ready to take it off the stands...

As for showing us your pics, yeah, take it easy on us! We keep seeing these threads with the little paperclip next to the title, and something like "...I have a question...", or "...I have a problem...", and after opening it we're assaulted with beatiful pics of perfect parts all glossy and fitting together nicely and cleanly. No fair! Whatever the question or problem is you're in better shape than the rest of us!

Seriously, keep them coming. Good inspiration for the rest of us.

In no way am I trying to rub anything in to you guys or make anyone feel bad.....I just know most of you appreciate this stuff as much as I do. I have had this truck for 16 years and only now does it look like anything respectable (and it is still in a million pieces). I'm sorry if anyone feels I am being pompass about the truck. It was not intended...

My wife and neighbors just don't get very excited about my progress, so your words of encouragement make it all worth while.

We all know only real bast**ds have beautiful powdercoated frames and flawless suspensions and . . . :p

Seriously, you have nothing to feel bad about. We all love your truck and what you're doing with it and you have nothing to feel bad about. Given the chance, everyone here would do something similar. It looks awesome and keep it up! For people with the right attitudes, which is most people here, what you're doing is WAY fun to look at and can be very inspiring.

When I look at your project = BOING!
