Project 91 Bsquared
I picked up this 1991 Suburban with a fuel injected 350 backed by a 700R4. It 2wd automatic with all 3rows of seats. This is my second Burb I've owned in the past 2 years so its only fitting that since my lastname starts with letter B it goes with my new Square Body Burb.
I saw it for sale a few weeks on fathers day and stopped by to talk to the owner. He's had it for the past 4yrs and rarely drove it. I had no intention at that time of buying it but a week later sold my dually and to my luck went back and bought this burb today. Last edited by BGRAFX; 07-03-2010 at 11:57 PM. |

Re: Project 91 Bsquared
The interior is immaculate like never had any passengers. Power windows locks and even the hard to find power mirrors. It has a cool long wooden center console and an ovehead console. Came with an alpine cd player in the dash sound pretty good for now. All 3 rows of blue cloth seat are very cushy without any wear. The interior is accented with woodgrain dash bezels.

Re: Project 91 Bsquared
The 350tbi/700R4 needs some tlc under the hood, so I spent half the day changing oil, got a new air filter, chased down a few wires & washed it. I need to find some headers and replace the muffler, so if anyone has any layin around let me know. Tomorrow I plan to pull both bumpers and replace with new white painted bumpers also paint the power mirrors and the grill white. I need new matching tires and I'm thinking about painting the rally rims a dark grey or try to color match dark blue from the graphic stripes on the body. future plans are to lower it over grey or black boss 338's or coy c5. It came with an alpine cd player which sounded good today while I was working on Bsquare!!!!

Thanks Man, although you know white doesn't show the imperfections of dirt, door dings scratches etc. I really like the custom paint job that you don't see all over town or even on this website. Thank you for the wheel info from your Suburban. I think some 20in boss 338's in grey will match perfectly on my burb. Scott You're eyes aren't playing tricks on you, NON of the tries match. The drivers side rims are matching but the front tire is 235/70r15 the rear is 255/60r15 the passenger side are rally wheels but I think the front is 15x7 van 215r15 and the rear is 235/75r15. Needless to say it drives very unbalanced. Lol |

Re: Project 91 Bsquared
If you were local I'd make you a good deal on a set of rallies with matching tires, they got some life left in them. I don't see you traveling 4 hours though for it. My burb has a very worn set of headers on it, but I'm thinking I'll give them a fresh coat of ceramic and just use them myself.
I've ended up with way more rally wheels then I intended. Still can't figure out how I did that. |

Re: Project 91 Bsquared
Rdm1208 setup: The wheels are 20 x 8.5 front and 20x9.5 rear, think it is a standard offset and no ther choices. I had to use a 1.25" wheel spacer on the rear to get the wheels out far enough. The front i had to use a .5" spacer with special lugnuts that went down inside the wheel a little. Maybe not special but was hard to find around here. I am not sure if my front wheels were the older hub style but either way it worked good. The tires are 245/40/20 front and 275/40/20 rear. The front will rub a little on BIG bumps but not to bad. I bought the wheels from a local vendor, the cost was $1300 out the door, complete package.

Re: Project 91 Bsquared
I painted the wheels white today. Also started on the bumper removal then it started to rain. I also found the original owner manuals.

Re: Project 91 Bsquared
My bad bro but thanks for the hook up on CL I will call him tomorrow and maybe score another set of rallies with wheels for less then the price of tires.
I do need to figure out the codes and also why the vent doesn't work at all. No heat or AC. Last edited by BGRAFX; 07-13-2010 at 06:02 PM. |

Re: Project 91 Bsquared
When I got headers for my 87, I went with the Edelbrock TES units.
They were reasonably priced and super easy to install with the existing system . . . once you got passed all the rusty manifold bolts and such. Anyway, it looks great so far. I love the center console, I would love to find one of those for mine.
