how to tell what year my hood is?

Is there a stamp or number to tell if my hood is a 68 or 67. My truck is a 68 but I am pretty sure the PO put 67 fenders on it. So I was wondering if the hood is a 67 as well.

'67 and '68 hoods are the same sheetmetal parts. Most '68 hoods have that thin chrome strip 'gingerbread' trim, and have little holes for the attaching nuts in the leading edge.

Re: how to tell what year my hood is?

The basic look of the 67 and 68 hood are the same some 68's had no trim there is one difference I have found between the hoods. They are the same in everyday except the flange/pinch weld at the back of the hood along the cowl area the 67 has the metal fold down and the back up and is spot welded until the edges just before it bends down to the fender with the body line. 68 has the metal fold down at a 90 degree angle and it stays like that and it's spot welded just like 69-72 hoods. The 68 hood seems like it would be a little better for the seal that screws with the cowl since the metal pointing down helps go into the seal and would probably (at least I think) would provide a better seal for water.
