How to remove old gas in tank.
I have a 70 Blazer and the gas that is in the tank is a couple of years old now. Is there a way to remove this gas and replace it with new without having to drop the tank? Sorry if this is a basic question, but I have searched and could not really get a good idea on how to approach it properly. Thanks for any input and help on this.

Re: How to remove old gas in tank.
The guys at the shop where I store the truck take a cheapo electric gas pump and hook it directly up to a battery. Then stick the inlet hose into the tank and the outlet hose into a barrel.

Example: Amazon.com: Mr. Gasket 12S Micro Electric Fuel... If not, can you give a suggestion as to what was used. Thanks again and I appreciate your help. Last edited by JWPOORE; 08-28-2010 at 08:33 PM. |

Re: How to remove old gas in tank.
Very similar. In this case, they had a fuel pump from a Lexus lying around. The pump itself has a positive and a negative terminal....they aren't always marked. If you hook them up to the battery backwards, the pump flows in the opposite direction. Then like you said, one hose in the tank and another one in a disposal container of some sort.
