My 58 Apache Hot Rod To Be
I traded for my 58 just outside Decatur AL. supposedly passed through the family since bought. I was looking for early 70s short wheelbase to make a street rod/daily driver but when i found the apache i couldnt look away so i set it up and rode my bike down and swapped it for the chevy and drove it back.on the way back it got hungry and ate 2 distributor drive gears 4 lifters and the cam now that the holidays are gone its time to revive her. i will be posting pics of the progress as i go.
some of the specs so far 350 4 bolt motor boreds .060 World Products Sportsman-II Heads Elderbrock Performer Air Gap Intake Hooker Headers Holley carb Cloyes noisy gear set Crane Cams Energizer 274 HO6 Electric Fan K&N Air Filter POS dual exhaust 3 on the tree trans stock rear and brakes stock interior except for the blazer bucket seats 16x10 American Racing wheels rear Goodyear 285/60/16s front Goodyear 225/60/16s here are a few i have up to date..

Re: My 58 Apache Hot Rod To Be
Well i have had my truck for a while now and done some light tinkering on it but now its time to start taking it apart and work on the cancer areas thought i would post some pics as it is and the areas of concern also i have a crack in the a pillar on the right side wanted to see if this was a common problem or if it was something the p.o. did from romping to hard on the go pedal...

Re: My 58 Apache Hot Rod To Be
Love the shop lots of fresh air ... well ventilated. Also love the battery hold-down. Watch those fast stops as a upside down battery on a hot manifold is not fun.... Good luck on the project.

Re: My 58 Apache Hot Rod To Be
yeah ill prolly go with the turbo 350 too, but im not sure about the rear end..we have a buddy that says he can prolly find us a 76-81 camaro for the front end and rear end, so we'll prolly just put the camaro rear on too..not sure what comes on the old camaros? anyway what do you think would be the best to throw in?
