yeah i did swap the entire frame out. that wasnt a whole lot of fun.
Actually no air yet, this is a static drop, prolly not the best riding drop ever, but static nonetheless. 3" spindles in front, 1 coil whacked off, 3.5" z, flipped in the rear, 2" shackles, 2 leafs taken out. this is all temp set up, waiting on air and 4 link parts to come in. still need to finish fabbing trans mount. but frame is almost laid. thought this was a cool shot of it slammed and the old 4x4 frame in the background. |

Boy, you don't take long.
It looks good. Got any close-up and backside pics of the Z'ed portion of the frame.

Is it possible to just join the front part of a 2wd frame(with suspension and all) to a 4x k5 and welding it/boxing it in? I've seen guys use Camaro/Monte Carlo front ends on older pick ups..
On a lighter note, if anyone has a 2wd rolling chassis for sale, I'm interested in one.. Last edited by blazekraze; 10-05-2005 at 11:12 PM. |

I think if you cut the rivets off that hold the 4wd front "A" frame(?) in place you can then bolt on the 2wd "A" frame and suspension. Not exactly sure, but this is what I believe. Its been covered pretty good in at least the past year or so in the Blazer forum.
I'm not sure if you need to remove the front spring mounts or not? And I also think you have to replace the rear spring mounts as they have a different offset. Again, not exactly sure. Oh, and you will have a different hump in the floor for the transfer case. Best advise I got was to find a donor truck or idealy a Suburban - the Sub's have heavier brakes and such for a little better preformance. Take all necessary parts from the donor. Which makes me wonder why Milehigh did the body swap and not just swap the suspension? Quote:

Oh yeah, 4wd's are literally a dime a dozen. 2wd's are a bit harder to come by.
I have a 2wd project in the for sale section...... Quote:
