My 87 K5 Blazer project
Hey Guys
Here is my 87 K5 project. I bought the K5 off craigslist for $1500 bucks and it was VERY nasty when I got it. I've had the interior out and cleaned it up really good. I need to Get a K5 emblem for the fender, get the tailgate trim, fix vent window that shattered, fix passenger door trim, and get the rest of the parts I need for it. I'm probably going to remove the footsteps on it I'm not really a fan of them. I will get pics up in a few minutes. Korey Last edited by NCTyphoonKid; 06-07-2011 at 02:26 PM. |

Re: My 87 K5 Blazer project
I'm not sure whether I want to lift it as of now. I think i'm going to leave it how it is for right now. I'm still planning on pulling the footstep things off. I need to replace all the gaskets for the top and the door windows and tailgate window. I really don't have any big plans as of now for it. My main priority right now is to get it looking alot better since it hasn't been cleaned really good in about 10 years or so.

Re: My 87 K5 Blazer project
Got my K5 emblems put on and got my tailgate straps so now I can sit on my tailgate. I still need a exhaust, the grille trim and a few other things. I'm very happy with it and I've been driving it alot lately and I enjoy it.

Re: My 87 K5 Blazer project
Haha nah it has never been painted everything on it is factory except for the grille letters I painted them black and gold to match better. It came from the factory with painted cladding.

Re: My 87 K5 Blazer project
Got to really test out the 4x4 tonight my buddy got his Silverado stuck and I was a last resort so I had to go pull him out and I must say the K5 did a really good job and I'm VERY proud of it.

Re: My 87 K5 Blazer project
I think there are some tow hooks in the FOR SALE section.
Also...I think the bumperettes get in the way of the tow hooks by a little bit. |

Re: My 87 K5 Blazer project
Those dual front receiver hitches and your location makes me think this could have been a surf casters truck and might have spent a lot of time parked on the beach.
The body looks good, how does the undercarriage look? |
