c30 flatbed farm truck. help please!!!
ok so I am new to this forum and also new to restoring trucks, but I have always done the work on my own vehicles, so I am confident. A few years ago my dad bought a c30 flatbed dually stick shift and I love it. It doesnt have power steering or a/c and it doesnt bother me at all. This thing is a hoss it pulls almost as much as my f250 diesel.
So this is my plan I want to have the flatbed rhino lined or linex which ever. I want to put a set of 86 model dually rims on it (because I already have a set laying around). this will of course be after I take care of my rust issues. We use this as a farm truck and we will continue to do so but I want to make it last a long time so one day my kids can drive it. So this is what it looks like now. Here is the first problem I need to deal with http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/...ps591804ad.jpg I have looked for weeks trying to find a replacement part but I keep getting the same story (im S.O.L.) I have found a guy with a parts truck that will sell me OEM hangers off his 72 c10 parts truck. But I need to know if they will be strong enough or do I just need to fab my own. Oh and I also need to know if those 86 rims will fit. I would appreciate any help. |

Howdy neighbor! Welcome to the forum. If it was me I'd probably try to fab my own. You might try Clyde Parker over off 411 he had a couple parts ton trucks at one time. I can probably come up with a few other local folks with parts trucks. PM me and maybe we can get you fixed up.

Thanks to everyone who posted.
I have tried lmc. They don't have it but I went ahead and ordered the catalog for the rest of the parts I need. The hanger is broken and missing part of the front half. I already found a local store with the grade 8 bolts. I wish it was that easy lol. Could you post a pic of the rims your friend has. If the ones I have don't fit I might need another set. I have heared of clyde Parker but I didn't think about him. Again thanks for all the help. Posted via Mobile Device |
