Header's

I'm wanting to get some headers out of Jegs. The ones i want our the dynomax cerama-coated headers. But i can't figure out if that is for the pair or for one. ANyone ever gotten these headers?

Jon, those are the ones I just got for the 454 I will be putting in my truck. They were $209.00 for the pair. Not a bad price. I went ahead and bought Percy deadsoft gaskets for them while I was at it.

Hey Yukon, what is the part number for the ones you got for the 454? I am putting a 502 in my truck and will need a new set of headers.

I just put the Headman ceramic coated headers on my truck. Had to send 2 pair back because JEGS and Summit had their heads up there butts. Finially called Headman and had them shipped direct. What a deal to find headers to fit the 71 GMC 4x4 350v8. The deal was that damn clutch linkage. Boy they are SWEET~!Bolted them to 2.5" aluminized pipes with H and Flowmaster 70 series Big Block mufflers. Nice and quiet around town and on the highway but when you stand on it look out it gets loud and mean. Drove it in the Mud for the first time ever last weekend. Freaked everyone out. Blew by trucks and jeeps with 4" lifts stuck in the mud just laughin our @sses off. My buddy with me almost threw up he was laughin' so hard when I did a donut around the whole bunch of newer trucks some stuck others trying to get them out~!

Yeah barn i dropped the housing aruond the flywheel two weekends ago and found 1 full tooth of the gear. I was happy tht i found the problem. But then last week i started hearing it again. I did the same and found another piece that must have been stuck somewhere the first time. As of now. Problem fixed.

OK if i'm going to put these headers on could i use the same place that the manifold connects to the pipe or am i going to have to make a new connection with new gaskets. Does that make sense, hard to explain.

One more thing. How do these headers sound w/ glass packs. Anyone here put that setup on their truck?

yeah, you're going to have to do a little exhaust rework. I just got these from Summit a few weeks ago. They do come with 2.5" collector/reducers, and all the bolts. The fit is tight, but no dimpling needed. I did have to go get some "header plugs" so my spark plugs wires wouldn't melt. Darn nice looking headers for $220.

Wish I could get some headers for my car this cheap.

the clutch linkage was a problemwith my headers also, had to cut of the part that is between the frame and kicks out the stick that pushes clutch fork and weld it two inches to the left, clutch linkage works fine now but i bet theres more stress on that stick

I have an automatic so i won't have to worry about the clutch.
So i was wondering how now the exhuast pipe on both sides run up towards the exhuast manifold and join at about the top of the starter. You didn't have to do anything to your pipe to get them on?

Jon, I've got those headers and have glasspacks, sounds great! The headers will bolt right up where the old manifolds are mounted, but you will have to have your exhaust mated to them. The collecter/reducer bolts to the end of the headers and your tailpipes mate up to the reducer end. If you don't already have an "H" pipe, this would be the perfect opportunity to add one, not that much more $ while it's on the rack anyway. I had Mike at Collier's do mine, he does a good job, and there are a couple more places here in Winfield that also do it. Be careful removing the old manifold bolts, if you break one off, it can be a royal pain getting it out.
