Windhield washer bottle questions

I have a 69 4x4 and it's missing it's washer bottle and I can't find the wiring under the hood or where the washer bottle would go. I'm betting it got buried by the PO.

I'll buy a bottle and pump and hose from LMC or something, but does anyone know where the bottle goes and what the wiring is for the pump so it'll work from the washer switch inside the cab?

Re: Windhield washer bottle questions

12 volts key on to the red wire for the pump, I ran from the wiper motor for this. Ground wire from the pump to the middle connector at the wiper switch, (blue factory wire goes to this connector). I went to pick a part and got a washer bottle out of a sedan that mounted up to my drivers side inner fender.

Re: Windhield washer bottle questions

the stock pump is up under the dash in the drivers comp attached to the wiper motor. the bottle mounts on the driver side inner fender the pump sucks the fluid from there and squirts it on the windshield

PUMP IS NOT ATTACHED TO THE BOTTLE in a factory setup

This is true. My instructions are for an aftermarket washer pump.

Re: Windhield washer bottle questions

The stock pump is a real PITA to get to. Instead of replacing it I used a universal pump and mounted it to firewall. I ran the positive and negative wires from the stock connector I removed from the old pump.

Re: Windhield washer bottle questions

Just the ticket, boys, thanks a lot. More than enough information to work this out now. That 88-98 bottle looks just the ticket ...
