Question Tree or Floor?

Which is better?

I'm getting ready to put the 350 in the ce68 and i've got a 67 3spd to put in it - it's the only option i have unless one of you've got a 5 or 4 spd.

Should i put the shifter back up on the tree or put it in the floor?
the person before me had a 4munice in it w/ the shifter on the floor so the hole is there for that.

If you think putting the shifter on the floor is btr which brand of shifter is better?

If you think i should put it on the tree - i need a few parts - i think?

Which should i do?

i dont know if they make one ( they probably do) but lokar makes some SWEET shifters. other people have brought up which 3 speed shifter to use.

Auto on the column, standard belongs on the floor..Those old column 3spd standards sucked.

I voted for floor shifter but the 3 speed it kinda cool - something unique. If you have a bench seat you might consider a 3 on the tree to keep the floor clear. If you need the 3 speed column or linkage let me know - I just pulled mine out last week.

Switched mine from the column to Hurst on floor. Love it.

My friend chad put a dayton from vatozone in his 81 stepside it was pretty cheesy then he bought one of these hursts he liked it alot better i drove the truck once with the daytona wich is made by mr gasket it was Loose kinda like a granny 4 speed. the hurst was Really tight ..

I have an old hurst shifter Called The "Mystery Shifter" its really tight Reverse is Where First Would be on a 5 speed But other than that pretty neat.
