70 C20 wrecker
My father bought this truck for cheap to use as a plow truck. It has a custom wrecker body on it. He wanted me to list it on Craigslist as he plans to use the truck but doesn't need the bed. Is t rare?

Re: 70 C20 wrecker
Probably not worth a whole lot as a custom sling wrecker, but the winch may be. How does it operate? Electric, Hydraulic, shaft drive?

Re: 70 C20 wrecker
They are a little hard to find, but most out there will prefer a 1-Ton Wrecker Body. The main reason they are out there isn't actually that someone "really" wants one, but they want to be able to tow with the 3/4 Ton truck they already have. The biggest negative is capacity. I was talking to a guy once who had a Factory Made "Slide In". I asked him about capacity and he told me that he was overweight already, without a car even on it yet.
That said, I'm sure someone would be pretty happy with it, maybe even for just off-road work. As a complete truck, I wouldn't mind it myself. Bill

Re: 70 C20 wrecker
That's not a custom wrecker body. That's a Fleetside bed that was bobbed. Rare? Somewhat one of a kind, since each person did it a bit different

Re: 70 C20 wrecker
I don't know much about plowing...but I would think the weight of that wrecker would help gain traction for pushing snow...plus you could use it to pull people out of snow banks on the side.

I used to plow with a '67 GMC 1-Ton Dump (2-WD) and with Snow Tires on the back and fully loaded with sand, the truck plowed pretty good. Bill

Re: 70 C20 wrecker
The terminology in your ad makes it very unclear. It says $800 for wrecker and bed,or $600 for just the body without the bed? The bed "is" the body. I assume you meant $600 for just the wrecker. If you had used the same terminology you had already established it would be crystal clear...$800 for wrecker and bed or $600 for just the wrecker
