jeep springs

I have a '61 short step side with jeep springs. How much weight should it be able to carry?

Not much. I have a pair on my 60 looks great rides nice ,but I cant carry much. There is no way I could load my bike ( about 550llbs) on it with out fear of bottoming out on bad roads.
Funny that you posted this since I just purchased some lowweing springs from Summit to " fix" this problem

which springs from Summit as in how low?

I went with some 3" lowering springs. (I should have gone 4" oh well)

I have Jeep springs on the 64 and 400lbs. is max.

i have cut grand Cherokee springs in the rear of my 66. thinking they would be a little more heavy duty than the jeeps. but its about the same. bottomed out my truck at lowes with some bags of rocks. had to put some in the cab on the floor

but it rides nice
