Post Bedside swap ?

Will the bedside (swb) from a 67-68 fit on my 70. I know I will have to cut the hole for the marker light but I need to know if it will work. How hard is it to take off just the bed side?

I swapped a 67 bedside onto my 70 (longfleet). I'm assuming there is no difference between swb and lwb, just the length. There might be differences between wood and steel decks tho. Mine was wood.

Remove the tailgate.
You have to unbolt all the hold-down (to the deck) carriage bolts along the edges. Might be easier to just turn them the other way so they snap off. Remove the bolts along the front holding the bedside to the forward bulkhead.
And you have to reach up inside the rear pillar and remove three bolts. There is also the stiffening rod about midway holding the front of the wheel arch to the frame.
And you also have to grind 2 welds (one vertical, one horizontal) at the back corner.
The whole bedside can be removed this way including the wheel tub. You also have the option of leaving the wheel tub, meaning you have to reach up and undo the bolts holding the tub to the bedside.

The rest is wrestling it off. Heres a few pics, sorry not a lot of detail...

You can wish in one hand and crap in the other.
See which one gets filled first.
