Well i had a chance to pull up the old rubber mat and the lining under it whatever thats called. well anyways my door weatherstriping is gone so its leaking inside when it rains so i got all that out and man i was thinking this floorboard is going to be bad crossing my figers hoping its not and i pull it all up and sigh of relief its got some rust but nothing i cant fix. now i have to get to work and get that sealed and new striping on the door and new door strikers since they are worn out and readjust my door.
What do you all use to take it up and seal it.

If you're talking about how to get all the crap off the floor, I would use a steel brush to get all the loose crap off and then use POR15 to seal. Since you have surface rust, it will adhere very well and seal great.

Ok where do i get that at por15? Ya i was thinking wire brush should do and a scraper.

Looks like a heck of a deal only $15 bucks for the POR15 thats a good deal do you guys use the other products and steps they show on what to do. I need to do my cab floor board i do not want that to get any worse than what it is.

The $15 Starter Kit will only cover a 12sqft area, is that enough?

I got a second can just in case I needed it when I got my starter kit. Its still too cold to do anything on the truck though.

I called Resto-Motive Labs (makers of POR) a long time ago when I needed to do the floorboards and they said the starter kit would cover 12 sq ft and that is enough to do the floorboards in a standard cab pickup.

Not quite. It is almost enough, but it is too thin and you really need a second can of the paint itself.

I used the POR and love it. Just buy the starter kit and one extra small can. And remember the prep is the most important part. Follow the directions and it will never come off!

Por-15 by itself is the greatest. The only problem with it was that top color coats wouldn't stick to it. RestoMotive Labs recently added another product to their line to address that problem. Tie-Coat over the POR-15 allows you to use standard automotive paint over the POR-15.
