Brighter Lights: Highly recommend the following product from LMC
I know it is posted in the forums...how to get brighter headlights. I just wanted to post the following.
Instead of making the harness from scratch, I ordered it from LMC part #36-3581 $29.95 It is basically a plug and play system. Complete with OEM connectors. Disconnect headlight nearest battery, plug in harness....yadda yadda Mount two relays, connect power, ground voila! Man what an easy install and the difference in brightness was amazing. |

I got this setup as well. Works great and is easily reversible if for some reason you'd want to go back to stock.

Re: Brighter Lights: Highly recommend the following product from LMC
Looks like 36-3581 is GMC and 36-3580 is Chevy. Same price, this is a case where you'd think GMC would cost a bit more
I looked at the several different threads with homemade/junkyard/autozone stuff a few times and it looked to be a bit of a pain... I like plug and play better, especially for wiring. Plus, I could actually use new headlight sockets anyway... Are the relays BOSCH?

I ordered a complete M&H engine & forward lamp harness from Wes (Classic Heartbeat). It has the upgraded relays. I noticed it gets its power from the positive battery lug on the starter, brings it over and down to the headlights. This is going to look real clean.

Re: Brighter Lights: Highly recommend the following product from LMC
My *only* complaint is the thick yellow part was not QUITE long enough for the over the radiator run.
Instructions are MOSTLY in asian other than a diagram, so there wasnt any routing specifics. |

BTW, somewhere in the FAQ is a thread on how to relay this on your own, if you are electrically and search inclined.

Re: Brighter Lights: Highly recommend the following product from LMC
I've heard quite a few complaints about this product from LMC... junk relays, and crappy quality on the harness.
This is pretty easy to do yourself, it'll hide better (why use yellow??? Yellow is SRS/airbag stuff in the automotive industry) and you control the quality instead of expecting a quality product and not getting one. |
