Anyone running the Porterbuilt with a big block Chevy Mark IV engine?
I have a Porterbuilt level 3 ordered and I just had a 496 big block built for it but I have never seen a big block with porterbuilt. any input on how the fit is?
It must fit, the big block was a option when ordering

I've done a 502 ramjet install with a pb dm that came with the truck, not impressed with there customer service.

Did you happen to have to notch your oil pan to clear the rack steering?...I saw one that had to. There is VERY little on Big block DM

No I lowered the rack which will help with the bump steer ( the more you keep your rack parallel the better for this) My main goal is to get the truck to handle so i lowered the motor so the pan is 3/4 " above the dm. and I moved the engine back 1 1/4.

I'm running a level 3 dropmember with a 396, the rack and pan are close but with the motor/trans dropping back at 5 degrees for the driveshafts it brings it up and off the rack, although not by much.

Great to know. I'm about ready to set my motor. I seems not a lot of people put Big Blocks with the Porterbuilds. What Headers did you use?

what headers are those?....any photo of the oil pan clearance to the rack steering

Did you have to make clearance for your valve covers against the firewall?..Photos?
