Weather finally broke here long enough for me to get some work done on the engine.
New 3/8" guide plates, Comp Cams Push Rods. Had a oiling problem, got it resolved finally. Here's the final results: Road test time!

I too have just got my truck running after replacing cam, springs, lifters and oil pump. I now have 60+ psi oil pressure on cold start up, still have a few things to tidy up then off to get a new duel exhaust system.

Re: the pre st pattys what did you get done this week thread 3/15
Followed up on a Omaha craigslist find from Feb. and it paid off, two nos door silverado door panels that had been dyed a couple years ago and a nos dash pad that had been dyed in a truck for less than 2-3 years for $125 for all. I know they have to be NOS stock because they are flawless and when I removed the dye, all of them were grey. Trevor

Sold a set of 15inch Centerline Auto Drags that I had on craigslist . Went over to a friends house to check out his KP 6 link that he just installd. Nice kit. Spent some time searching the internet for some interior trim parts that I cant find.

Re: the pre st pattys what did you get done this week thread 3/15
I relocated my battery in my truck in the bed, using a Summit racing battery relocate kt, had a little problem, had the battery end to the starter touching the s on the starter , when I was hooking up the battery - end was sparking like crazy and the starter was making a clicking noise, so I adjusted the battery cable to starter no more problems, wile I was at it, and I decided to hook up an amp

I said good bye to an old friend. It was a sad day to see my 82 Blazer get loaded up and go away. I hope the new owner treats her well..

I took the speedo reducer off my TC so my speedo reads accurate after I had the gears changed to 4.10.

Re: the pre st pattys what did you get done this week thread 3/15
I did plugs/wires/cap and rotor on the little 4.1 6er in my '82 just for piece of mind. It seems like it helped it idle a little more smooth, but it was just good to work on a square for the first time since november. Next on the list is to take the bed off and fix the holes in the roof. A good drop is on the list after that, but it's been bumped before

Re: the pre st pattys what did you get done this week thread 3/15
Drove to the other end of the state to visit my Mom in the hospital. Mom’s 86 and has been going down hill since my father died 4 years ago. Her latest illness has convinced her she has no business living by herself in the country. She will be moving in with my brother soon. Always the jokester, Mom has the nurses in stitches and they rotate bring her a strawberry milkshake from Hardees everyday. LOL.
While I was out there my brother and I drove by the buildings on the Virginia Tech campus where the mass murder took place in April 2007. We also visited the Memorial and my Mom is in the hospital where most of the injured were brought. The visit sure made life’s little annoyances go away.

Friday I pulled the broken dash out and fixed the indicator assembly. It was broken in 2 pieces. Saturday I pulled the rear tailgate apart on my newly aquired 85 K5 and inspected the window for rolling up/down, found some issues with the run channels and a problem with the cable. Luckily I bought a new one from GM Friday. After playing with the broken cable to make sure I could roll it up/down I replaced it with a the new cable and it works ok for a worn out track. At that same time I replaced the release latch that was broken and wouldn't allow you to open the gate. Sunday I pulled the front interior pieces (carpet, seats, console) out to inspect the floor to see how bad the rust was. It has some issues but I plan to fix them along with my K5 Jimmy.

Re: the pre st pattys what did you get done this week thread 3/15
Reassembled my lathe - got the wrong belts darn it! Hung all the trim in the daughter's bedroom, a couple hours of nail setting and the wife can finish it off. Finished the roof sheathing on my new parts shed.
Oh, and tore down the sticking front brakes on the 87 diesel. Got all the parts, should be back together by the end of the week (weather permitting).

picked up a used set of aluminum slots, and some other 73-80 stuff.
Went on a road trip with a friend to Oklahoma to pick up a truck he purchased. It was a fun time...except for the boring drive thru Kansas and Iowa...wow there isn't much to see out there along I35.

took the 3" 2 chamber flows off and put marenont 103211 muffs on, 3" in and out, 3" inside and half as loud as the flows, no difference in seat of the pants feel. They fit a 93 c35oo HD pick up...the zone look up...44.95 ea. I now do not beckon the constablary when I drive...

Alright! My turn!
Did my suspension. Almost ready for spring cruises! My 86 White SWB feels alot better today. Took us about 9 hours from start to clean up. The Black truck is my buddy Jason's truck. Its called "The Ugly". Keep in mind that my tires got a little low on air from sitting for a while so picture it up about 2 inches from where it is and level. But its low. Went to do a tune up over at my uncles place on Friday night before heading to Daytona.....both wheel cylinders decided to stop holding fluid....so 5 and a half hours later I have new drums, shoes and wheel cylinders on the K5. Spent Saturday doing what i was supposed to do Friday night...skipped Daytona and hit a nice little show in Gainesville...took home 1st in "Under Contruction"....LMAO.....I told them "Ummmm...it's finished...".....spent Sunday on the water and at a favorite local fish camp eating Crab Legs and Oysters...
