Brake line leaking
Hi - I replaced my front steal brake line and also my rubber hose line to the wheel cyclinder. The connection is tight but it is leaking (I am afraid to over tighten it). The steal brake line was a prebent brake line i bought from inline tube... and the flare looks good. Before I replace the rubber hose line (again)... is there anything anyone can suggest to help fix it?
Thanks for your help! Chris |

Re: Brake line leaking
Are you using a good quality line wrench? Snap on make the best ones. I would give it a little more. The flares can take more tightening than you think. make sure you hold the hose with something. They like to slip in the bracket.
Chances are, there is nothing wrong with the hose or the line. |

Re: Brake line leaking
Lap it!!
By that I mean tighten then loosen then tighten a touch more then loosen then tighten even more and loosen. THen snug it up. You gotta move a little metal to get the flare to seat sometimes. |

Re: Brake line leaking
If above tips don't resolve, get a magnifying glass and take a closer look at the flair. I had one that had a hairline crack that was hard to detect and had to cut the end off and reflare. Luckily I had enough slack to do it.
