Anyone Use These On A BB
I couldnt get the pic so here is the link. They are 66-69 Corvett BB exhaust manifolds. Anyone use them in there truck. Want to know about clearance for the exhaust pipes.. I have seen them on E-Bay for half the price.
Thanks Gary http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...&dept%5Fid=160

If you are talking 2wd, I don't know, but SBC vetts usually have a ram horn similar to the 4X4 ramhorns from our truck. I would ask about their return policy and if they will take em back try em and see?

Re: Anyone Use These On A BB
Depends if you are planning on using the original exhaust or are replacing it. Reason being those manifolds drop down a lot further than the original ones for these trucks. I found a replacement that was identical to the orginal manifold(almost). Had smog holes and I needed to reshape the exit port to fit the donut gasket that was on the original exhaust. Could not find an original replacement manifold that was identical. BTW The originals are a lot thinner and look like they flow better.

You might consider the BB stainless motorhome manifolds. A little hard to find but they fit great, flow great and did I mention they were stainless?

Re: Anyone Use These On A BB
I have them on my truck. 4x4 - 427 with motor in stock small block location.
You have to trim about a 1/4 inch off the top lip of the passenger side frame rail and make a "V" shaped notch on both sides of the motor mount X member which you then gussett up on the underside. They look like they belong there. I bolted a 90 degree bend to the manifold, then clamped 18 inches of stainless flex pipe to it and then mounted ridged mounted exhaust out the rear. Has been in there for at least 25 years. All 2&1/2 inch pipe. The reason I went to the flex and ridged mounted exhaust is I tried to rubber mount it at first and I would break the mounts all the time with the big pipe and lots of torque. You will have to replace the short pieces of stainless flex about every 2 years. Rick / Napa Ca. |

I don't know if these are the same as the Ecklers or not but they are cheaper and in the info it says they are the same as original.

Re: Anyone Use These On A BB
I have been looking for some shorty headers for my 402. I think my manifolds leak.
