C20 height question
I'm trying to figure out how much of a drop is on the truck I recently bought. Does anyone have a stock height C20 2wd with coil suspension all around that could measure the distance from the ground to the bottom lip of the fender at the center of the wheel well on the front and rear. Then I can see what was done to my truck.
Thanks in advance.

Re: C20 height question
Mike,
My Green C-20 is stock height. I can measure it in the morning if you don't get an answer tonight. LockDoc

Re: C20 height question
After you find out how low you got it, could you tell me what you used to lower it? I got a 69 C20....thinking about it.

Re: C20 height question
As far as I know it was done with drop coils in front and rear. I did get the stock coils in a box when I bought the truck, at least I think they are stock height coils. The previous owner didn't know much about what was done to it. Most of the work was done by the previous, previous owner. Then the guy I bought it from, basically had it stored in a garage since he bought it.

Re: C20 height question
Well, it's midnight and I am awake, so I measured mine. It is stock. The thing to remember is that the measurement you get will depend on what height tires you are running.
I am running LT245/75R16, which are around 31" tall, I believe. My truck is 35" at the rear and 33" in the front from the ground to the fender openings. Now, an accurate method should be to measure from the fender opening to the center of the axle. That will give you an accurate comparison of just the spring/spindle drops. Mine are 19.5" on the front and 21" on the rears. If you compare those measurements to yours, it should give you the drop on your truck. The only caveat is that mine probably has the original springs (43 years old), so they probably have sagged a bit. Let us know what you come up with for measurements on your truck.

Re: C20 height question
Took a measurement when I got home and here is what I found.
Front fender to ground about 29" and from center of axle to fender is about 15.5" Rear fender to ground about 30.5" and from center of axle to fender about 16.5" I'm running what is supposed to be stock tires ( going by the original size in glove box and converting) 265/75r16. Anyone else have stock height measurements to compare to? I have to question if these are 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton coils now. 4" front and 5" rear drop with coils only....Not sure I believe that. I'm happy with the rear and not using the truck for hauling especially with a carpeted box. BUT raising the front an inch would level out the truck and give me needed suspension travel especially on these roads where I live.

Re: C20 height question
I went outside to double check the front end and confirmed that the coils are cut. They must have bought drop coils and then cut an extra coil off. It was a confirmation by finger not by sight as I could feel the cut edge and not see it.
I didn't check the rear but from what I recall, they didn't look cut at all, so they must have done that properly. So I have a 4" front and approx 5"-6" rear drop if I remove the rear bump stops as I think it is very close if not sitting on the rear stops. Or close to it. Thanks for checking. One more thing to add to the description sign I am making for the car show in a few weeks if I can get some pictures done and get the board made.
