Re: any cool REAR VIEW mirrors?
Couldn't you just run the power wire inside the windshield gasket down to the drivers side bottom corner and through the drain hole to the fuse block?

yep, but what about the thermometer sensor, where does that install? I have the same mirror in my 01 tahoe and I always wonder where the sensor is.

Re: any cool REAR VIEW mirrors?
I have one too. It is glued to the windshild like 71 - 72. I have a 70 so I used the mounting hole from the old mirror in the roof to run the wires. The outside temp sensor is mounted behind the front bomper. It also has 2 map lights, a compass and is auto dimming. You can also get it with home link. Great mod.

Re: any cool REAR VIEW mirrors?
I have the same mirror in my '69. I drilled a 1/4" hole right above the mirror (used rubber grommet) and also drilled a hole as close to the pillar on the driver's side as I could and fished my wires thru the roof. Then drilled a hole in the pillar to fish the wire down. Finally I drilled a hole behind the dash (removed cluster for ease of access) and fished it out.
Temp sensor is behind the grill (in front of the radiator). CLICK HERE FOR IMAGE

Re: any cool REAR VIEW mirrors?
Yes. They are just laying across the headliner. Clip as much as you can get to work with.

Re: any cool REAR VIEW mirrors?
I have this one in mine. A little pricey, but looks very cool and dims those annoying rear view lights.

Re: any cool REAR VIEW mirrors?
Guy's it very simple really. I bought the mirror and senor off E-bay. The guy I bought it from had the wires figured out for me. The senor is mounted in the front on the Hood release so it get's clean air it's in front of the radator. I ran some small flat wire I bought at Radio Shack to the mirror under the rubber gasket. A hot wire for the compass, a ground and I think a senor wire maybe two senor wires. That's it.
You can see the wires here going into the gasket. I ran them down the drivers side and they come out right at the dash. Senor is the blue color thing. Mine does tell you when it is below 32 degree's outside no inside though. It will display ICE instead of temp. Mine has no lights. Yep it was Longhorn behind me headed to NC for the truck meet in 2009.
