Fuel Guage
Put in a new send unit from LMC and guage is still not working. It goes up to full when lead is disconnected but goes down to just over empty when connected. Traced wire back to fuse box - all good. Ideas ?? Thanks!

The test you performed indicates the gauge should be working so the problem has to be in the sending unit. Several years ago I replaced mine and got a defective one. There's some small copper fingers that ride on a strip of coiled wire and the fingers were bent and all out of whack. I had to reorder.
The next one I was bent in a certain way that kept the float from moving up and down. It was touching the tank itself. I had to re-form the unit. If you have an ohm meter you can test by removing it to make sure it's working. One meter lead on the pin and the other to the sending unit. Meter should go up and down as you move the float arm. Thanks for the tip! I'm glad the guage is ok - I suspected so. I'll pull the send unit out and test it when I get the engine swap done. Thanks again!
