No it wont fit all of the way down the shaft. The holes line up on the fly wheel it just wnt go far enough back on the shaft.

I don't know then. I'd get that converter checked. There's nothing inside blocking that you can tell? No bad splines or anything? I wish I was closer. I have one we could install just to check.

I have the old one here and it slides right on. I think it's not the right one.
I guess I will just leave it for now. I am going to Lousiana Monday morning so it will be 2 weeks before I get back I wanted to put thew cab on the frame before I went south. Well that's life, Thanks for your help

I remember reading in the tq. converter section of the Summit catalog that many people send their converters back becasue they won't fit the imput shaft of the tranny. They said this is because the converter has closer tolerances than the stock model and you have to push harder.....

Lucas is right.
Here is a quote from Summit's tech site: "Many people will send back a converter saying it doesn’t fit their transmission’s input shaft. Since performance converters are built to much closer tolerances than OEM types, the hub-to-input-shaft fit is tighter. That often leads people to think the new converter’s hub is too small because they are used to just slipping the stock converter on. Usually, your new converter is OK-you just need a little extra effort to install it."

What i do to stab the convertor is put it on the input shaft get it back as far as it will go then turn it and jiggle the convertor up and down a little
Kinda hard to explain but keep turnin it and wiggling it a little it should go down you will be able to tell because there will be a slight amount of room between the convertor and the trans at the bottom in front of the pan just turn it and jiggle might take a few turns to get it in all the way. |

rotate it while you push on it. you should hear a few clicks and when sealed should be about 2 inches inside the bellhousing.

I found out the problem.
It's the wrong one. It has too small of a hole in on the inside. The shaft is 1" and the hole is 3/4 ". Well I hope the new one is a tight fit as long as it goes on. Does anyone know if there were two diffirend shaft sizes avaible in the 700R trannys ? Thanks for all of the help. I was realy wanting to get the tranny in so I could put the cab on the frame. But that's Life Eh ?
