Amp gauge
The Amp gauge hasnt worked in my 75 C-15 since I bought it.
How do you go about checking to see if its aproblem with the gauge, or something else? Also, to my knowledge, nobody offers a replacement amp gauge for our trucks. If it i a bad gauge, anyone know where to buy a new one ? Heather, if you see this, Im the guy who suggested silver gauge overlays. I noticed that you include an overlay for voltage, but not Amp. Im not sure when they switched to Voltage gauge from Amp, I know both my 76 & now my 75 have Amp gauges. Any help greatly appreciated. john

Check the two fuses in the engine compartment wiring harness. One on each side. The fuses are about 1/3 the length of a normal automotive fuse and set in a rubber plug. These form part of the shunt network that the ammeter uses. If you have problems locating them I can try to get a picture of them for you.

John, they're both right by the master cylinder. One of the plugs, comes off of that little junction box that's bolted to the firewall (It's above and to the passenger side, of the master cylinder.) The other, comes out of the main harness plug, which is directly below and to the passenger side of the windshield wiper motor.
I just checked both of mine, and both were good..so the ammeter doesn't work for some OTHER reason... |
