Are upper & lower ball joint & tie rod ends same for 1967-1972 Chevy C10

I am getting ready to break down and just order a front end disc brake kit with drop spindle, rear bar kit along with 4\6 lowering coil spring kit for my 1968 Chevy C10.

So while doing this I may as well replace all ball joints and tie rod ends. Are they the same for 1967-1972 Chevy C10 trucks?

No, the upper replacement ball joints bolt on, the lowers press in. Inner and outer tie rod ends are different as well. One has right hand threads while the other has left hand threads so that by turning the threaded center link in and out adjustments can be made without removing the tapered joints...

The 67-70 parts are different from the 71-72.

So since I am going to buy Early Classics 4\6 drop kit which has the custom drop spindle I can just go to Autozone,Oreillys or any other parts place and get stock ball joints and tie rod ends that fit 1967-1970 and I should be ok.

I just want to get new ball joints and tie rod ends in place before I start the front disc brake upgrade kit so everything is new and fresh upon install.

Probably toss on a bigger front sway bar also since I have heard they make the trucks handle alot better also.

I think when you go to Disc brakes you have to change to the latter model parts.
Ive never done it so maybe someone will chime in that is familiar with this.
Be sure to get name brand parts. The foreign made discount parts are junk.

Hmmm...So in order to install the Early Classics 1967-1970 disc brake kit I would need to swap out my upper and lower control arms also.

Early classic 4/6 kits are made to use your original ball joints, control arms, and tie rod ends. I've installed 3 of their kits in the last 2 years and they all bolted in without any problems. Please note that many of the other companies drop kits do require you to use the newer ball joints and tie rods.

I'm actually in the middle of installing my fourth 4/6 drop from early classic enterprises. I replace the ball joints and tie rods at the same time. I've found it easier to just remove all the old parts, clean them, check for damage and then install all the new parts at the same time. Check your lower control arms for damage. Three of the four trucks I've done had at least one bent lower control arm. I replaced them with cpp stock lower arms at $279 a pair.
