How to identify a 3/4 ton GM 16 in steel wheel?
How do I identify a 3/4 ton GM 16 inch steel wheel besides the 8 lugs? I need to find some for my truck that has 17.5s.

I found some that were take-offs from a K20...they have GM stamped on the outer ring...ask a tire guy how to spot the 16.5 bead shape. Take a tape measure with you when you go to look at the wheels. Mine have the 'nubs' to hold on the hub caps (4 of em).
Good luck in your hunt. |

Ok. My 16s that came with the truck aren't marked GM but I'd rather have GM if I can find them.

Kelsey Hayes made the wheels. Maybe the ones that came on the trucks had GM stamped, but you will find the exact same wheel without the stamp. If you powder coat them you won't be able to read any stampings anyway. The slots on the GM wheels are narrower than Fords and I'm not sure how other brands compare. Here is what the wheel should look like:
