Engine compartment

Does anyone have photos of an original engine compartment or a restored to original compartment for a '72 CST. I just finished detailing mine and I want to get the decal placement correct. I still have the firewall markings in mine, but everything else was gone.

Re: Engine compartment

Thanks Jaro.
It appears my photos are too large to be uploaded. I'll try again later
I know where the air cleaner decal will go, but I'm unsure of the proper placement of the others.
Searched the web without luck.

Thanks

Re: Engine compartment

Thanks Bouncy!

Is there a decal on top of the radiator or where the hood latch meets the support?

Here's some photos of the truck. The engine photo was taken after my detailing of the compartment. I just purchased dog dishes (blue bowtie)and will mount up the BFG's on white 15x8 steelies that are on order from Stockton Wheel.

I plan on cleaning up the rallys and maybe powdercoating them.

If anyone has a line on an original dealer equip roll bar, I'd like to hear from you.

Thanks

Re: Engine compartment

Beautiful truck & love the color!

I'll try to take a look tomorrow and see if there is a sticker there - I can't remember.

Re: Engine compartment

Beautiful work on the restore, they look great when they are done that way...Thanks for loading up the pics. enjoyed looking at them and they are always good for reference to someone else. What does the interior look like...Once we get pics., we always want more

There mite be decals for emissions or tune up info in that area but don't know for sure

What part of NY are you from?

Re: Engine compartment

Jaros,
I'm in NYC, Brooklyn, and thanks for the compliments. I don't think I have any photos of the interior right now. I'm in the middle of detailing that also.

I know there were emissions decals and I think they go on top of the radiator support but I just want to be sure.

Re: Engine compartment

Yeah, kinda thought that with your location being NY,NY. Well, you certainly do nice work, soooooo I'll be waiting on the pics. of the detailed interior

Decals could also be located on the fan shroud or inner fender, just don't know. I don't want to give you bad info.

Re: Engine compartment

WHEN I GET HOME TOHIGHT iLL SCAN FROM THE FSM.. BUT THERE IS ONE ON THE TOP OF THE PASSANGER FENDER. FOT TUNE UP SPEC. THERE IS ONE ON THE A/C COMPRESSOR THERE IS ONE ON THE CORE SUPPORT BY THE BATTERY FOR THE COOLANT . DEPENDING ON WHERE YOUR JACK GOES ON YOUR TRUCK THERE IS A DECAL FOR THAT. ALSO ON THE AIR CLEANER. IF YOU HAVE DISK BRAKES THEN THERE IS ONE ON THE TAILGATE TOP DRIVERSIDE CORNER THAT SAYS DISK BRAKE. OHH AND ONE ON THE WASHER BOTTLE TOO.OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD i THINK THAT ABOUT IT

Thumbs up Re: Engine compartment

I absolutely love your Blazer. My '70 will be completely as original when I am finished with it! So many of these fine machines have been modified. It is refreshing to find one that is stock.

Re: Engine compartment

I would send pics of mine but I dont think it would do any good.. half the parts are hangin on the wall... I was at a swap meet he had them with him there. Ill get his addy for you ..Ill have to find the recept. He also has the 350 for the valve covers. I checked in my f.a.m. and it shows them there. He said to make sure you get the correct one for the a/c compressor there is a red label or a green one.

Thanks and I look forward to the address. I picked up the coolant, air cleaner and emission decals from LMC. I see they also have the disc brake, washer bottle, jack instructions and Tonawanda valve cover decals. Are these the correct valve cover decals for our trucks? No A/C on my truck, so I'm good to go!

Re: Engine compartment

I am 99% certain these are the original decals on my K5. I have three decals; the coolant decal next to the battery, the air filter one, and the one on the drivers fender.

Thanks Levi.
Where exactly on the drivers fender well does the emissions decal go? Closer to the top or to the steering box?
