Elvis
Died 47 years ago today. Boy, it sure doesn't seem that long ago. The man sure loved his music, cars and his Mama!

Re: Elvis
Yeah the story broke a couple of months ago and got my attention. Some crazy plan to steal Graceland away from the family and auction it off. Forgeries, fake financial businesses. Just friday a woman in Florida was identified as the Notary signature on some documents. She claims it's not her sig. Not explained is how did this Missouri woman get the Notary's name and stamp.
Co-conspirator perhaps?

Re: Elvis
I really enjoyed watch his movies years ago.
And those Cadillac's were nice. That might have been the reason Daddy always bought Momma a Cadillac. IDK.

Re: Elvis
At a $1.50 per person ticket, it was tough making a living in the music business back then.

Re: Elvis
I wasn't old enough to experience the full blown " Elvismania", however I caught the tale end of it. I always liked his music and what he meant to so many people.
I was driving from Indianapolis to Cinncinnati to attend a Reds baseball game when I heard on the radio of his passing.

Re: Elvis
I remember the day he died. My parents were working out in the yard.....mowing or trimming the hedges or something. Anyway, I had been helping and they sent me in for a jug of water from the fridge.
I saw the newsman, Walter Cronkite?, talking about it on TV when I walked through the living room to get the water. I went back outside and told my parents that Elvis had died. I distinctly remember to this day.......my mother dropped the rake and ran into the house crying! Dad came in behind her and watched TV for a bit. They grew up on Elvis and had seen him several different times throughout his career in the 50's-70's. My mama cried for several days.
