Can't get guage lights to work

Hey Guys, Hope you can help. I've replaced the fuse and checked the bulbs but no lights when headlight switch is on. I noticed a empty terminal marked cluster feed. Is this the problem? Also, I have a black wire coming from the ignition switch with a female spade connection on it that isn't connected to anything. Where does this wire go? Maybe to that empty terminal? Thanks.

Yes,Yes, and Yes. Thanks Longhorn Man. Would you know where the black wire from ign switch goes? Or what plugs into cluster feed port on fuse panel? Thanks, Jeff.

Re: Can't get guage lights to work

I don't know of a pigtail hanging off the ignition switch. I just chopped one out of a 68 GMC for GMCJunkie's son last mo nth, and all wires went to the harness. However, i *think* that would be a ground of some sorts... regardless, it would have absolutly no effect on the laghts.
The terminal on the fuse box is for add on stuff that you would want controlled with the dash lights, or for 69 and up, the light in the tilt column.

Grey wire from light switch to gauge panel-check to see if it has power with light switch on. If not and parking lights work, test with another switch.

You might check the printed cicuit on back of the gauge cluster for breaks. My experience it's usually a gauge circuit that gets blown. Also where your plug goes in sometimes the copper can peel back from the laminate and not make contact with one of the terminals.
