oil pressure within spec?
up untill the point i installed my 454, i never really looked at my oil pressure guage.it never drops down below 1/4 of the way down. here is what my guage indicates.
fully warm @ idle 650-700 rpms should i be worried? other info.. when its cold it pegs all the way to the h because the viscosity of the oil is thicker. also when im reved to about 1500 rpm's (FULLY WARM) it goes about 3/4 up closer to the H. which is good. anything past 1500 it pegs the H (FULLY WARM). <-- this is normal right? so in a nutshell, should i be worries about my idle oil pressure? is it too low at idle?

Re: oil pressure within spec?
i would recommend a manual pressure test with a known good gauge just to ease your worries.

Re: oil pressure within spec?
Mine used to run around the 1/4 mark, warmed up at idle... I would probably not worry too much about it. I believe most of the factory gauges were rated for 60psi so that would suggest you're getting 60 or more within operating range which sounds good to me. I ended up replacing the factory gauge with an aftermarket so I could read a dial with numbers on it.

Re: oil pressure within spec?
The guideline is 10 pounds of pressure per 1000 rpm. You look plenty safe to me. Is the valvetrain quiet at idle ?

Re: oil pressure within spec?
Looks normal to me, as long as the pressure starts to come up with rpm increase.

Re: oil pressure within spec?
My 67 reads pretty low at idle, around 17-18 psi, but is more around 40-50 psi while cruising.
