Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
I'm new to the site and love it. I purchased my truck from Ebay about 3 years ago - an actual AZ truck with only surface rust. started on the tear down in August. here are few pictures - wish me luck..

Sweet Truck and nice garage. Keep us posted on your build.
Have the same parts washer, What kind of solvent do you use these days? Good Luck

Re: Started my first frame off - 72 SWB LS1, 6-spd manual
It looks Killer!
I was thinking of that same combo, any thoughts on where or how that shifter is going to be inside. Guess running buckets is the only option. Still looks Cool.... and Good Luck!

There's a kit to move the shifter forward about 5-6 inches, somebody here did a great write-up on it.

not much help as far as shifter position, but I came across a fellow who used a 4wd floor pan to give the 6 speed proper clearance. Ill re-post if I ever find the link.

Also, if you want to run a bench with the t56 you can - I did. You just have to find a shifter that is bent right. I happened across a factory '68 b-body mopar shifter and it worked perfectly. I raised it 1" tho. Again, nice work. You're going to love it. |

Working on the bed now. Soda blasting is complete. I would not recommend doing this in front of your house like I did.

You'll have to keep us posted. I would really love a 6-speed in mine, and have been wondering how big of a project it is.

I drove that combo in a Camaro; it was sweet. You going to freshen the motor?
