What did you get done this weekend? (Oct 8-10)
Ken, I hope you don't mind me starting this, but I am pretty excited and couldn't wait to share with everyone what I got done.
I haven't made much progress on Yeller lately due to health, work, the fiance, and money issues...but this weekend was different. I got my dash and all the gauges installed, and finished up the interior wiring with the exception of the stereo related stuff, dome light, and power door stuff. I also now have brand new brakes on the front, which also means I can now get some tires and make Yeller a "roller" for the first time since 2001!! (Ignore the dust in the brake pic, I haven't had it on the road in a while  )What did everyone else get done?

I got my order from Chevy Duty in Friday, and of course, 2 things are backordered: Battery clamp *which i need* and the horn button retainer cup, which i don't need right now. What i DID get in is: battery tray, tray hanger, clamp bolt (yet no clamp), Horn retainer cup bushing (yet no cup), universal washer pump, horn contact spring kit, turn signal canceling cam and horn contact, and turn signal lever. If you've been to my car domain page, then you will understand why i need the turn signal lever
 It rained all weekend so i didn't bother digging in, and the rest of my order should come in within 2 weeks, hopefully that dead soldier of a battery can make it that long, although im not holding my breath.

well, not only did i get work done on my project, i also got my website updated!!!! so, its been a good weekend.
went archery hunting saturday most of the day/evening. nothing worth shooting! but, i did begin my painless system... which is a little overwealming, but coming along. I worked on mounting up my bedsteps, etc. got some bugs worked out of my website & a couple new pages uploaded. just randomness all the way around. |

lets see....
Sat: i drove back from Santa Fe, NM. (friday i drove from Pagosa Springs CO to Santa fe).. about an 8hrs drive.. While i was in Durango, CO i guess they were having a H1 owners club meeting, as there were about a dozen H1s running around as well as a Hummer sponsored trailer. On the way home from SF... i saw a pro-stock C10.. (about 85 or 86) on a trailer heading west on I-40. thought maybe it was Ragnrat, but i doubted it.. also saw a Starsky and Hutch Torino on a car hauler... Sun: not alot since it rained all day... i did pull the truck into the garage and put new thick valve cover gaskets on. Last edited by Prerunner1982; 10-11-2004 at 02:01 PM. |

Did some welding for a friend, and electrical wiring in the shop.
Getting ready to put ceiling fans in the shop.

I am now a retail sales maggot and work weekends so nothing gets done. My weekend will be Tuesday and then 8 days later I have thrusday off.

Helped a friend move his bed sides up one inch.
Now we can run 22's on an S-10 step side.

wow, that 10 is incredible... at first, i thought he just back/halved the truck... a totally custom/new frame! that's incredible! and the 22's! nice...
my 10's tuckin' 18's and i thought i was doin' nice... wow, sweet ride... is that bed all custom sheet metal? |

Replaced piston and put the 82's engine back together. She seems to run better then what she ever did. Did some cruising the coast, met some board members and we got wet at the swapmeet (stupid tropical storms). Spent today moving my tools and some stuff into the new shop.

All I've done this weekend is do homework
I've got my TPI harness ready to be installed though, so I'll get started on that this next week

Well I think I am a week behind on this.
Recently I was able to take 2 days off work and get some real work done. My wife and I removed the front clip off the K5, Pulled the 327 and TH350 out and got them delivered to the gents who bought them. This weekend I decided to go ahead and take the fenders off the radiator support and store them in the K5 until I can get the K5 rolled into the garage to pull the axles and get started on preping my frame for the 2X4 crossmember. I also cleaned the garage up some and will hopefully be able to move the K5 in next weekend. Regards, Stacey |

big weekend this weekend!
i completely stripped the rear of my frame, took all of the brackets off, then bolted them back on with grade 8 bolts. installed my shackle flip kit and bolted the 14FF in place. after bringing it down onto all 4 wheels, im not quite sure that it is going to fit through the garage door. this is a problem since it is currently inside the garage.  i still have to remove the spring/shackle/shackle flip bolts sometime this week to replace them with the ones i ordered on Friday. next project is the stock C10 rear springs to the front, and the Dana 60. this will entail moving the front spring mounts to the forward position, moving the shackle mount forward, and making new 7.25" center to center shackles.

ordered a new eq for the stereo, and a rear window gasket as mine is leaking, plus the lower outside door gasket for the pasinger door, the end.

I was on call this weekend so I didn't get squat accomplished. I spent Saturday running around repairing games, and did the same thing again on Sunday. I did manage to get my wifes Denali and my Dodge washed if that counts for anything....
 Good to see someone is getting things done on their truck....

I cleaned my garage Over the weekend.
Tore down a raggely 305 i have . About Took out an eye. with a valvespring flying off them double humps.  And pretty much sat around it rained all day and is still raning

I picked up a 78 Scootsdale partscar and got to change my blown rear end. Must mount parking brakes, see over the brake system and change pin and oil before i can drive my truck again

Routine PM's and engineered a replacement battery tray and strap down. Tweaked the idle on the 1406. Almost dug into the dash to find my heater control lever, But, honey-dos called....

the only thing i managed to do this weekend was get into a major accident Sun afternoon, the 10th... Tues Oct 5th we bought a 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition to replace the crappy 95 Nissan Pathfinder... we were driving along 55mph and a 17 yr old kid in a 94 Ford Ranger pulled out across our lanes and we Tboned him on the passenger side... his truck was in the woods and our explorer was laying on the drivers side in the ditch.. i squeezed out the broken drivers side window and managed to pull out my 2 1/2 yr old and my wife out through the back hatch. My daughter didnt suffer as much as a scratch but was a little confused as to what happened. My wife has a cracked wrist bone and i have severe scratches and bruises along ym forearms, my neck and back and right shoulder are bruised and VERY sore.
We are very lucky that we survived with nothing but a few scratches. I took some pictures so i will hopefully have them ready soon.
