Those would be a hard item to find and be real expensive.

A simple thank you for his effort to help you would have been a great way to start that post…
Just sayin

Re: Nos 1972 woodgrain door inserts

I wouldn't expect such a rare and desirable item, two separate items actually, to have a list price. Also, pretty hard to act indifferent when negotiating to get the best price, which would have been grabbed out of the sky by the seller.

Re: Nos 1972 woodgrain door inserts

$400 is a rock bottom price. $200 a piece? What do the repros cost? The old standard, if there is such a thing, is N.O.S. is worth at least 2x the price of reproduction.
I sold a pair about 10 years ago for $300. With prices what they are now, even on used stuff, I'd think those panels would be worth at least $400@. MD Farms, I am amazed you even found a pair, and at that price. I guess it depends on the knowledge of the seller and how bad he needs money. This is trim, printed delicate trim. A N.O.S. fender or door you can fix a ding on and they need to be painted anyway. Look at what they go for. Woodgrain door panels are either perfect or they are second quality.

I don't buy into the question "What's it worth?" anymore.

NOS parts are becoming harder and harder to find. It's definitely a seller's market.

Re: Nos 1972 woodgrain door inserts

I can understand how someone could be looking for these panels now even though they bought some in '93, 28 years ago. I've bought and used a lot of parts in that time, and many repeatedly because I've done quite a few trucks in that time. But it is confusing that I (we) had the impression you were needing a pair, not just gathering info.

So, how much would YOU want for yours? Since we are simply sharing information

Re: Nos 1972 woodgrain door inserts

Golden State Pickup Parts sold them in the '90s. Not sure if they produced those or were N.O.S. I had talked to the owner once about that but do not remember the answer

I have a set from them that has to be 30 years old. I still have them tucked away. I never knew if they were nos or a repo. They appear to be nos though

Re: Nos 1972 woodgrain door inserts

Never seen where you could order them as a pair. Nor a part number to do so. Also they should have a parts sticker or a gm wrapper which was paper with gm logos

Any proof of your above quoted info, the part in bold? with atog on this, we have purchased/sold and or seen a number of these GM NOS 72 door panel/applique wg trim panels over the years and they have all been listed/offered separately as LH/RH pn's when GM packaged. As an aside between our impala and truck line interests, we probably have a few grand invested in old original GM parts books and p/n succession manuals and have only found four different pn's for these wg panel inserts and they are all clearly listed LH/RH specific parts.
