Power Steering Belt Issues

Ok Here it is. I cant get that power steering belt on to save my life. My setup is a 68 1/2 just converted to a short waterpump. Is there a place in the bracket to adjust? The belt part # I have is goodyear 15356. Is this correct?

Thanks

I'm not sure what your working with here although it sounds like you can't get enough movement in the PS pump bracket to get the belt on. My 72 was a pain too although by working underneath, you can spot the travel slots easier and by using 2 wrenches, you can slowly back off the bolts to allow the pump to swing inward in order to achieve enough room for belt to wiggle on. Not the best set up, especially with the PS hoses in your way. "Alan Grove" makes a sweet set up that adjusts very easily and it's steel like the oem stuff so looks stock. Hope it helps,

Im working with the stock power steering pump and brackets for the 68 1/2 ton with a small block. WHen you say back off the bolts which bolts are you referring to? THe ones that go to the block and the motor mount or the brackets on the pump itself?

Thanks
