Well as many of you remember I was looking for a '67 to '72 Chevy/GMC truck...Well I've found one...Its a '70 Chevy Cheyenne model...Longbed with factory P/S P/B its had A/C at one time but don't anymore..its an automatic with a 305 thats been built a little bit. It was on craigslist for $800...Got the guy down to $600 and he hauled it to me..then I had some old scrap laying around that he bought off of me...So I ended up getting the truck for $558.

It needs a few things. Nothing major..The biggest thing is I'm looking for a better Carb right now..But it still runs and drives now. The body is in great shape, I got it Monday...Also, I was going to get pictures todat but it was pooring the rain...I'll get them tomorrow.

Just wanted to let you guys know.

Longhorn. Looking at the Title it says Year: 70, Make: Chev, Model: CE1. I'll be sure a take a second look at the VIN. It also says the poor things not been registered since '99 But been in a garage most of that time.

sounds cool. Might want to check on the year of it.... match the title to the VIN on the cab... the cheyenne wasn't started till 71

If you have a 1970 cheyenne then you indeed have a rare truck. All kidding aside...if that is a 70 model than you have a CST and not a cheyenne...as the Longhorn mentioned the cheyenne was 71-72 model years only. on your purchase. Loooks like the beginning of a beautiful thing.

Thanks!...I'm not sure why that guy has said it was a Cheyenne model? I guess maybe he was like me and didn't know..lol

See the guy I bought it from (Cody) had bought it from his girlfriends brother..The girlfriends brother was going to restore it and lost interest (Sadly for him) so then (Cody) bought it to restore and he got it running and done some other small things to it...but he also lost interest in it... So I bought it.

I'm pretty sure I have a rebuildable Q-Jet, maybe 2, you can have for shipping costs.

This was the best I could do since more rain was coming...I had to hurry! lol I hope you like them. Let me know if you have ny questions about it and I'll answer them best I can.

You can tell rain was coming..I took these at 10 this morning and it was still dark looking because the rain.

EDIT: The tools seen inside was where I replaced the key switch. It didn't have a key until now.

Cool!

So, I look at this pic and see the little screw hole under the vent window. Like on a 72.

Then look at this pic and you can't see it.

So, if the hole is there, the door is from a 72, or late 71. (My 71 has them and the glass mounted rear view mirror.)

Thanks guys for all the things you said about my truck... I can't wait to do some more work on it. Friday its supposed to be in the low to mid fiftys.
As for the doors I'll have to check them when I get back. I'm not even at my house. I've been gone for a few days.lol
But there is something I noticed the other day, Up under the front of the truck there is a bar. Kinda looks like a sway bar or something...One of the brackets that bolts it onto the frame is broken. I'll either have to replace it or try to have it welded up. Looking back now at the side shot of my truck you can see that bar hanging down next to the front tire. I'm not sure what its called...But anyone know about what it would cost to replace the bracket? Also how hard would it be? Once again I've not really had much of a chance to look it over cause I've been gone mostly.

That looks like a sway bar bracket to me. Dont weld it, If I was you I would just buy new brackets and bushings and redo both sides at the same time. I can't remember how much the kit cost but it was not much. Some vendors might even have them here on the board.

I thought that was what it looked like...I didn't really want to weld it, I was just going thru my list of things that could be done. Well I'll ask this. (Once again cause I'm not even home) Can this job be done with standard shop tools? Also about how hard is it?

yes you can!!!!
Drill, tap set, new bolts, bushings, paint, rachet, socket and you are set...Simple.
