opinions on camper cruiser emblems on a shortie??

I am building a 67 GMC short wheel base show truck with completely original 67-72 era options and accessories. I know that you had to have a 2500 or 3500 (920-930 in Canada) series to have the camper cruiser option but i like these decals a lot and would like to put them on my short box 1/2 ton. 327, th400, leaf rear ( i believe gmc in canada had coils standard cause they were made by chevrolet), nos heavy duty shocks and front sway bar and all the other goodies to be had. what do you think? cool or not cool...

Camper and shorty just don't go together for me, but it's your truck and if you like it go for it! Sharpie

Fight the temptation.Keep it correct and hang onto those cool Camper Cruiser badges. They only belong on a true camper capable truck. On one of those I like wider steel wheels, big mirrors, clearance lamps, and aftermarket items such as auxiliary tanks, camper mounts, cargo ties, etc.A shortbed is the car of trucks and looks best clean with options for comfort & convenience.

Re: opinions on camper cruiser emblems on a shortie??

EXACTLY!!! I'm actually building a '67 GMC shorty around a front clip I bought for a friend that ended up not needing it.The grille and "Custom" emblems were perfect as well as the core support, pan, and filler. This is on a '71 frame.Little by little I've found choice '67 items like chrome/tinted wing windows,327,and even cherry fenders with the holes for the fender badge and molding.
My 4wd is a '72 K2500 that'll be a Sierra Grande Custom Camper.A '67 Camper Cruiser would have been cool. But this way I have both ends covered 67-72 as well as shortbed 2wd-3/4t 4wd.since I can only have 2 (I had 9) that'll make me happy.Keep lookin'.You'll get a truck for those emblems.
