Modifying spark plugs?

Someone posted a link a while ago about a slight mod you can do to ordinary spark plugs to make a bigger spark or something to that effect. Either way, its something thats practiced in the racing circuit. If search function was operating I'd find it no problemo, anyone remember what I'm referring to? Something about grinding the electrode a certain way.

are you refering to whats called"indexing" your plugs,,,,ive never actually done it but,if i remember correctly you file your electrodes to a "point" then,install them so all 8 plugs end up pointing in the same direction,thereby optimizing combustion?????does it work?is it worth the time?i have no idea,

Indexing is just getting them all where the ground strap on the plug is pointing down to the piston.
Grinding the ground strap to a poit is done in some racing, and one of the plug manufactureres (is it A/C delco?) was making these not too long ago, I'm sure they are still around though.
I have been told that the 2 of them combined is not worth much power nor economy. I did it anyways (when I was on the dark side driving an import) and noticed the engine ran just a slight bit smoother, but no MPG gains, and the performance was no negligibla, that the G-Force eal i was using to clock 0-60 and 1/4 mile times didn't notice it either.
