Another truck followed me home!!!!

This is a real survivor though, strait as a pin, and I purchased from the original owner. It is going back up for sale though, because I don't need another project. I originaly purchased it to come up with a complete clip for my new 2WD Blazer, but there is just no way that I can part this little gem. It came with the original owner's manual, warrantee and protecto plate, a paper about shoulder harness seat belts being an option, original first issued title, and pouch!! It will make a great original truck for someone who wants a bone stock truck. It even still has the smog pump mounted to the engine!! WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Re: Another truck followed me home!!!!

I realy don't want to turn this into a for sale thread. I will post it for sale in the trucks for sale section of this website. I was just happy to have brought it home and wanted to show everyone. WES

No, no, no! I meant what you paid for it? If you don't mind sharing. I couldn't afford it if you were giving it away. Hummmm...are you giving it away...just kidding.

Re: Another truck followed me home!!!!

Understood, It is a busness practice of mine not to disclose what I paid for it. Lets just say that it was enough to convince the former owner to reliece the truck to me and yet not too much that I can't offer it to you guys at a realy reasonable price for this kind of survivor. It is now listed in the trucks for sale section also. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Re: Another truck followed me home!!!!

I saw your price on the parts board, trucks half that nice go for 1K higher 'round here. If I wasn't so tied up financially, I'd love to have that thing. I'd drop a rebult 250 with a Camaro 5speed and drive it as my DD.

That's a super nice find, and I know what you mean about discussing prices of what you paid for something

Re: Another truck followed me home!!!!

Sweet 68 WES. That's a good example of the plain 68 painted front.

I have a smog pump too. It's actually a VERY desirable thing to have on your motor because it actually acts as kind of a super charger. It adds about 10-15 hp. (Tongue Firmly placed in cheek!)

How'd your recent trip to Jamestown go and how do you like your new hauler?

Saw it the first night it was listed. Talked with her and her father but did not go look at it because I knew I would buy and it and I don't need another project. I figured you or Frank would end up with it. Nice truck...gotta love those stock, unmolested trucks!

Re: Another truck followed me home!!!!

Thanks everyone. It is a real survivor thats for sure. If it wasn't for the rust issues that need to be addressed a goo buff is all it would need. There isn't even a scratch in the paint!! Not even on the floor of the bed. It doesn't look like it ever hauled anything!! I am trying to figure out the smoky motor issue. The previouse owner told me that he took it to a mechanic to have the intake manifold cleaned out and when he got it back it smoked like a chiminy!! He said it wasn't smoking when he took it to him and the mechanic washed his hands of it. I pull the PCV out to check for blow-by and it has none, so I don't think that it is rings... Don't know... I'll try to figure it out though... That would be the only thing that would keep someone from driving it accross the country.. lol WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

I had a 307 that smoked profusely as well. Fix? Bent push rod.

Re: Another truck followed me home!!!!

Hmmmm, Never thought about that one. I will have to look into it a little closer. As it turns out, it is the original color on the truck!!! I thought that it was mint green originaly. Turns out that the is just the interior color. WES
