I got one of those flexible metal radiator hoses from summit but it came with no instructions. I assume I insert the proper reducer in one end of rubber sleeve. then do I insert metal hose into other end of rubber sleeve? then push onto port and tighten the worm clamps? Seems like it would have problems sealing on the ribbed metal hose? Anyway someone who has done it can you chime in and tell me if I am right or wrong? Also can they be cut?

one other thing, is it easier to mount the reducer on the port then push on the hose or mount it in the hose then push it onto the port?

The ones like these? Yep you can cut them, and yes just put the reducer in the one end and slide the hose over the metal. Use a little socket to tighten the clamps.

With the heater hoses after removing them we had to glue the reducer on to the heater core spout to be able to reuse it.

Thanks mudder only doing the rad hoses. I found the instructions but they make no sense. Ok once more so I am sure I understand. Take the rubber sleeves and insert the reducers in one side metal hose in other. Then I can tighten clamps on the metal hose side. then I push them onto water neck and rad and tighten the other set of clamps. Does this sound right? Also it says if I am using a polished water neck scuff it up can I just use sand paper for this? Why did you have to glue the reducers on were they damaged with removal?

Slide the reducer into the endo of the sleeve that goes to the radiator. It should only go in about half way. Shove the radiator hose into the other end of the sleeve. It should use up the other half of the sleeve. Put the cover on and then slide the sleeve and reducer on the the radiator inlet/outlet. Tighten clamps till they are no longer leaking.

Heater hose reducers are very thin and get damaged after you tighten them down and remove them. Sand paper is ok.

Did you have to scuff your polished water neck at all? Also I plan on getting back with you soon about what we discussed in the earlier thread. Were is owensville at would love to see your truck in person some time.
