I am just starting my build, trying to get as much together as possible. I have a complete k frame & suspension from a 79. Im going to put it in my 68, im wondering how well the smallblock using clamshell mounts will line up with the original 4spd on the factory cross member?

I am using the late model engine mounts in mine and it sets the engine further back than the stock mounts. Mine sits close to where it would if you put your V* on the 6 cylnder mounts/position. I wenbt from a 6/speed to V8/T350, so I had to redo my crossmember anyways, but I would say you are probably going to have to alter you tranny/xmember mounts (and drive shaft) if you use the later style mounts.

More to come! 98 Cheyenne Ext cab short box 2wd. Driver and maybe future project.
