Steel Bed Restoration Questions w/ Pics...

Rain means rust in the Northwest! It seems that every steel 1972 truck bed I look at the rear post to bed has been welded and patched... differently!

I am trying to determine if the second raised ridge is beveled (in half?) around the post / fender. The hand drawn line on my picture is where I believe the bevel goes. Can you confirm this for me?

The bottom two pics are of a truck (not mine) that I looked at for confirm. I am still skeptical. Any one with pics?

Martin

yeah his 71 is a driver, but if he said 72 (the one in his avatar) it could have looked like the first pic
