Project- high dollar low budget build

I bought a great '68 3/4 ton long box with the intentions of turning it into a 1/2 ton and getting it painted quick. Now after little over a year i am almost to paint. I did the 1/2 ton swap within a month of getting it and then started on removing the chrome trim, side markers, bed post holes.

Re: Project- high dollar low budget build

The only places that i had to end up replacing were the passenger side cab corner and rocker panel. The cab corner was rusted through and the rocker panel had a few pin holes.

yep the one doing the painting is my uncle then the other one is my dad. Without them the pickup would not even be close to done.

Re: Project- high dollar low budget build

A bad update on the pickup, you can see in the pictures that there is quite a difference in the body panels in the clear coat. We are in the process of taking it all down to shoot it over! There was a bad batch of clear that we got that made some of the truck a dead flat instead of the eggshell sheen we wanted. So the truck is set back a while

Re: Project- high dollar low budget build

What tone of gray is that? I like it my truck is going to be charcoal grey with a smoked gray roof kinda like what you have.
