Need a new rear yoke... Help please!!! - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

So I am starting to go through rear straps on my 1972 chevy blazer. I know the rear is a 12 bolt, but I am wanting to upgrade from straps to u-bolt style. Local part houses, are of no help so I need to order online.

I need to know how many splines the pinyon shafts are. Also I know factory it came with a 1310 ujoint. Right now I have a 1 ton tom woods driveline. But am using a crossover rear ujoint. If I can I would like to take that ujoint to a full 1350. So anyone know what I need to get inorder to get away from straps and go to a 1350 ujoint?

My biggest hang up right now is the spline count.

Also I am aware that the set up uses a crush sleeve and what I need to do there...

I got mine off of ebay. It was a spicer unit (don't have the P/N with me) but I found this one as well

So it is 30 spline. Also what size is the pinyon nut? Socket size? Do they have a kit with a new pinyon nut included?

Would this one work even though it says its for a car?

My kit came with the nut and washer as well. It may have even come with a new crush sleeve, I can't remember cause I rebuilt the whole rearend. I'd just message them and ask.

I've had different size pinion nuts in the range of 1-1/16 to 1-1/4.

I bought Moroso U Joint Girdles from Summit racing after I blew the caps off my rear yoke, sheering off the cap retainer nubs. Never had a problem since. and for $30 I couldn't beat it. I'll take a pic when I get home. Here's a link

They're super easy to install and you don't have to remove the yoke

I think part of my failure issue is front the yoke being wore out a touch. Is the pinion for the car same as the truck/blazer?

I am also in need of this 1350 yoke for a 12 bolt.

Did GM use this on any factory applications?
