1988-1999 chevy truck 4wd to 2wd is it possible?

hi i know that the 73-87 body styles are pretty simple to swap from 4wd to 2wd. i was thinking of getting a 1996 chevy 2 dr tahoe 4wd and converting it to a 2dr tahoe 2wd. the 4wd's are way cheaper but i want a bagged 2dr tahoe 2wd. the 2dr tahoe 2wd's are almost 4 times the price. any help would be awesome!

yeah Northridge, Ca. Everyone here wants to customize or bag it so they always skyrocket for demand.

to do it... you will have to clip the truck. It is not a bolt on deal. if it were me... find a 2wd frame out of a wrecking yard or get a whole 2wd truck. Those damn trucks are a dime a dozen right now.

Yeah for some reason(probably gas prices) i got on craigs list and i found a few. Sorry, there is an update on the truck though. I am looking for a 1996-1999 2 door tahoe 2wd. Not a pickup

Re: 1988-1999 chevy truck 4wd to 2wd is it possible?

Between the following:
2-dr. Tahoe, 4-dr. Tahoe, Suburban, Shortbed/standard cab, short bed/extended cab, longbed/standard cab, longbed/extended cab and Duallys

The frames are all different, either in rear frame rail kicks or longer frame from the cowl/firewall back.

The frames are actually 2 pieces, the cowl back and the cowl forward. The front of the frame slides on. Any 2-wd clip will work if you cut the welds on the 4-wd frame section and slide the 2-wd on.

Crawl underneath and take a close look.
