What companies are there that make the corvette suspension install kits for out truck. I know of flat out engineering. Just wondering what others there are. What do you guys think about the corvette suspension for these trucks? Also can the corvette suspension be installed withiut the install kit. Thanks everyone

Re: 55-59 corvette suspension
there are several guys on here that have built them without kits.
they have even posted blueprints of the crossmember in their threads. here's the first one I found. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=1#post6395334 |

LOL, I thought you were using 55-59 Corvette suspension in your truck! LOL, That's what I am using in my AD.

Re: 55-59 corvette suspension
Sorry,
It is the same principal though. with a tape measure and a welder, anything is possible. The guys at no limit had to come up with a kit somewhere. for 3000.00 you can mess up several attempts and still be money in the clear! |

Re: 55-59 corvette suspension
Lol thats true. I was just trying to find a kit I can just weld in and then bolt all the corvette suspension parts too. That flat out engineering kit looks pretty good. Just wondering what else is out there

Re: 55-59 corvette suspension
The kits are nice but too pricey for me. I have $35 in my crossmember for the front. Definitely better than $1000!! The Corvette factory front crossmember is nearly perfect fit and darn near direct bolt in for the TF trucks they just don't look as good to me as the aftermarket cross members.

Re: 55-59 corvette suspension
Just curious, I admit I know NOTHING about suspension geometry but if you use the stock Corvette cross member, I assume you'd have to make SOME modification to it and/or the frame rails for it to fit tightly for welding. Does this effect anti dive or other geometry?

Re: 55-59 corvette suspension
If you have more time than $$. C4 crossmember will fit 55-59 truck, use factory C4 alignment specs. Looking forward to driving my 58 C4.

Re: 55-59 corvette suspension
i remember using those suspension setups 35 years ago. they are quick way to get 5 lug pattern since hubs bolt on. vettes had same front end up to 62, same as 49-54 passenger car.

Re: 55-59 corvette suspension
Many years ago I had Fatman Fabrication crossmember welded and c-notched on my 58' Chevy stepside. 85-87 Corvette suspension components bolted right on.
