My rearend gears or whining in my 72 1/2 ton so I was thinking about swapping in a rearend from a late model truck, say early 90's. Will they fit and does anyone sell the mounts to weld on?

I put a 75 12 bolt under my longhorn....you will need to move the spring saddles, & the shock mounts. If you want a 1/2ton type ride, I suggest that you go with 4 leafs in the pack, plus the flat helper. For more info(so we dont step on the 1st mans post), PM me , or pull another thread crazyL

Re: rear end swap?

The stock 12 bolt has 3" tubes, so if what you are replacing it with has the same size tubes, you should do ok on the aftermarket mount kit mentioned above. You might check the widths also....you can "fudge " a little on that, assuming you arent running really wide wheels/big tires(1" either way, per side can be workable). crazyL
