Re: Hank Willams Jr's Truck

That's strange... that's an extremely reasonable asking price for what looks to be a very nice truck... not even factoring in it was freakin' owned/driven by Hank Jr!

Wouldn't you think he would have at least sprung for an auto or even air? Is a v-8 to much to ask for too? Things like that make me go HHMMM?

You might be surprised...

Apparently one of Elvis' favorite vehicles was his beat up 1948 Chevy Panel Truck because he could use it to sneak out in it and "be normal" for a bit. Maybe this is something Elvis fans have always known about, but I had never heard of the truck until recently.

http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/...van-uncovered/

Who knows, could be a family truck, he could have just bought it to bounce around his farm or estate in... who knows. Could also be BS. Could be his most favorite truck he ever owned. After all, a country boy can survive, and what better to do it with than a reliable 250 straight six???

...and it could be some random guy named "Hank Williams, Jr."

Why would he? Elvis Presley drove this '48 sedan delivery around Nashville for years.

My thoughts exactly. Looks worth the asking price without Hank's title.

Re: Hank Willams Jr's Truck

Looks to be legit, sold at auction in 2011 for $12,100. Documented then as Hank Jr's.
Very cool!

Re: Hank Willams Jr's Truck

How did you find that? That is pretty cool.

I met and am now friends with a guy that bought a 1970 Dodge Polaris convertible from the BO DUKE John Schneider on the Hot Rod Power Tour. It wasn't just some car John owned in his collection either. It was a family car that he drove, then his daughter drove to High School. The Schneider's owned the car for 17 years. I got to ride in it a few times... pretty cool to ride in a car Bo Duke actually drove. John signed the trunk, had a duplicate title made so Dave (the new owner) had the title that proved John Owned it, and pictures of him shaking Johns hand as he handed the title and keys over to Dave (that's Dave taking pics in the background, this was from the 2015 Power Tour.)

Looks like a heck of a deal to me. I would love to add it to the herd. Think how much this will be worth once he's "hanging out with Elvis".

I like country, but never listened to the old stuff. I guess I listen to it because it fits the era of the truck. (a way of going back to the simpler times and relive my youth)

I'm surprised this truck hasn't sold yet. Seems like a fair price and a nice truck.

Re: Hank Willams Jr's Truck

Anyone remember the old Seinfeld episode were George Costanza thought he bought Jon Voight's (the actor) car? Though he was the sh*t driving around in a convertable K-car with wood paneling. Turned out to be some other guy with the same name. That's all I got...

That was a good one! Didn't it also catch on fire or something? I also remember the one where he wanted to be "Bad George" and was trying to be cool with the early GTO.
