Re: Listen Up

Why did you put them in on the wrong sides? Armrests should go in the middle.

Good point. The way they sit now will interfere with the door arm rest...I think? Hey spinem ... let me know how they feel once you get them in. People are always lookin for seat ideas.

Re: Listen Up

I am in the process of putting the seats out of a 2002 Intrepid in mine. They fit really well and very easy to install. They do sit lower, but they are power, so you just move them up. Be sure that you reinforce the mount points to avoid the "face in the windshield" syndrome.

Re: Listen Up

If you're using standard seat belts, ones bolted to the floor, then they would restrain both the seat and you in case of a head on collision. If you're using seats that have the integral belts, that's when you need to take make sure they're secured to the floor as well as possible.

I actually raised them 2 in so I could fit the boxes for the two 8 in subs under them. I have more leg room but everyone says it makes me look bigger going down the road. Picture from the 09 Brothers truck show.

Re: Listen Up

they were not yet level in the truck, this was in 07...
i did get them level eventually....

the arm rests are on the left side becaue i removed the stock arm rests off the doors, fully clean...
I eventally painted and coverd the seats to match, it looked good, then it all burned to the ground in front of my eyes.

oh well.

Re: Listen Up

Did you have a backfire and the foam filter caught fire? I have always heard guys talk about the possibility of that and wondered if that was the culprit.

Re: Listen Up

and the seat belts were eventually fed thru the seat due to that reason (not retaining seat weight)

the backs of the seats had reinforces 1/2blates under the backs.... (large weight bearing and distribution)

Re: Listen Up

My Intrepid seats use integral seat belts, hece the added precaution on reinforcement. I am just now mounting them, but I will try to post pics this weekend.
