Topless and Loving It!

Finally completed pulling the blown engine and installing a new one. Had it out under its own power for the first time yesterday. To bad there is less than two months of driving weather left here. Anyways here are some new pics.

Aaron

P.S. The guy in the back is my brother and the front passenger is my dad. I have my head turned. I needed help getting that top off and the price was a maiden voyage ride.

Nice Blazer! You definitely stole that thing for $2500!

Are you planning on changing anything?

Edit - also a owner of a 95 Impala SS - sits in the garage most of the year though...

That looks great. Use it as much as you can before it gets cold.

Re: Topless and Loving It!

I just noticed your front seats. Could you post up some pics of the interior and how the seat are mounted?

Re: Topless and Loving It!

You bought that for $2500?! Jeez you may not want to advertise that, the guy you robbed might realize the beating you gave him. Heck of a deal, I'd drive it through the salt, slush and snow, for $2500 you have nothing to lose, enjoy it!

Re: Topless and Loving It!

Thanks all. I drive around with a huge grin. I'm sure I look pretty goofy.

I don't mind posting a price when I can show my wife your responses so she knows that I didn't get robbed. Actually she's ok with the Jimmy, she might even like it a bit.

72blckbuty - I need to add a tach, reinforce the front seat mounts, get a rear seat cover and matching seat belts, have the driver door repainted, maybe get new carpet and visors, install new radio and speakers, etc.
I think Im going to make my own alum. diamond plate rear side panels to mount the speakers in.

bigbadchev72 - I'm not 100% sure of the lift but every indication is that it is a Rancho 8" spring lift. The tires are 15" super swamper 36x12.5's. I think the ride is pretty decent for that much spring lift and the steering doesn't wander at all. A little hard for the wife to get in. the kids love it they think its some kind of amusement park ride.

lks dcvn - Awesome that you have an Imp too. I love mine, but it doesn't get out much either. I guess I'm to protective of it. I traded a 80 vette for it about 5 years ago because of the kids. I don't regret it one bit. As far as Blazer/Jimmys in ohio I have not seen any around here in many years. Ever go to Cedar Point? I'm about 20 min. from there, maybe an hour & 10 min. from Toledo.

1971k54x4 - I plan to. I'm hoping for two solid months.

Big J - The seats appear to be from a late 90's early 00's truck. I would take some pictures but there really isn't anything to see. Half of the mounts you can't see because of the rocker boxes. I have inspected the mounts though and although they seem to be mounted thru the original reinforced seat mounting area, I plan on adding a plate steel bar over and under, spanning across each set of front & rear mounts. I work for a construction company so I can get some scrap steel plate from the shop.

70rs/ss - I don't plan on putting the top back on so it would get reallllly cold. The Jimmy will just have to stay in the garage.

Aaron
